25.04.2010 - SWARCO Raiders II win against the Alpin Schwaz Hammers 35-13

The first big Tyrolean derby featuring the young Raiders against the Hammers from Schwaz went in favor of the Raiders. With this 'W'. they remain 3-0 and sit alone atop the Austrian division II. After a slow start, the young Raiders came to life in the 2nd and 3rd qtrs. and this carried them to a solid road victory.

MVP of the game was once again the 17 year old Running Back Andreas Hofbauer with 3 running TDs. Also in the scoring list was 17 year old receiver/kicker who had one TD and three extra points. The other 8 points came from Quarterback Damaso Tarneller with a TD of his own and a 2-point-conversion.

Offensive Coordinator Florian Grein was happy with the result, but knows that there is still work to be done: 'The Hammers were clearly the toughest opponent we?ve faced so far and we will be seeing them again soon. I'm pleased with our third win in a row, but there's still quite a bit we need to improve upon. We played somewhat scatter-brained and we were much prone to mistakes.'

The next challenge for the young SWARCO Raiders awaits them in two weeks. The sparks will fly on Sun. the 9th of May at 14:30 in a road game against the Gmunden Rams.
