SWARCO Raiders get to Austrian Bowl after Overtime-Thriller

Austrian Bowl XXVI is going to be a home game! After two wild overtime periods the SWARCO Raiders came out on top of the Turek Graz Giants in a roller coaster ride by the final score of 58-51. In Austrian national championship it will be the SWARCO Raiders squaring off against the Danube Dragons, who won in their semi final contest against the Raiffeisen Vikings.

SWARCO Raiders lose Graz-Game, win Home Playoffs
To lose, but not to have everything lost. That is what the Raiders achieved Saturday despite dropping the AFL regular season finale to the Turek Graz Giants, the SWARCO Raiders have still managed to secure semi final home field advantage. On June 26th at Innsbruck's Tivoli Stadium, the Raiders will get a chance at revenge because they will once again face none other than the Giants.

SWARCO Raiders victorious thanks to Grein?s Record-Game against Bulls
The SWARCO Raiders have made a giant step towards the playoffs and at the same time closed a rather negative chapter in team history. On the 5th game day of the Austrian Football League (AFL), the Tyroleans set back the Salzburg Bulls 54-13 (14-0; 13-7; 13-0; 14-6). It was the first ever victory against the Salzburg Bulls.

SWARCO Raiders celebrate victory and "Fiesta" against Valencia Firebats
The first action of the new Eurobowl season for the defending champs went exceptionally. The SWARCO Raiders took the ?Spanish Bulls? by the horns and soundly defeated them with a score of 55-13(14:7; 14:0; 21:0; 6:6). In Spite of heavy downpours, aprox. 4,000 spectators made their way to Tivoli stadium to watch the 7th EFL victory in a row. In the semi-finals (June 5th or 6th) will meet the Berlin Adler.

SWARCO Raiders II win against the Alpin Schwaz Hammers 35-13

The first big Tyrolean derby featuring the young Raiders against the Hammers from Schwaz went in favor of the Raiders. With this 'W'. they remain 3-0 and sit alone atop the Austrian division II. After a slow start, the young Raiders came to life in the 2nd and 3rd qtrs. and this carried them to a solid road victory.

SWARCO Raiders celebrate in two ways historical victory over Vienna Vikings
Sitting top of the AFL standings in the Austrian Football League (AFL) is the SWARCO Raiders. In front of an impressive crowd of 4,200 fans, the Eurobowl champs roundly topped the reigning Austrian Bowl champs with a score of 50-22 (9:7; 21:6; 14:7; 6:2). The attendance number now counts as the highest number in attendance for a regular season game. On top of this, the Raiders have never topped their rivals by such a large point spread in Innsbruck's Tivoli Stadium. It was the second highest point margin in the team history against the Vikings (55-24 in the AFL Semi-Final 2008 in Wattens).

SWARCO Raiders with a dominating 34-17 home opening win against Prag
With the performance that you would expect from the reigning Eurobowl Champions, the SWARCO Raiders Tirol presented their fans with a pleasing picture during their first home game in the Austrian Football League Season 2010. In front of 3,200 fans, the Tyrolean topped the Collectpoint Prague Panthers with a score of 34-17. (6:7; 14:3; 6:0; 8:7).

41- 7 SWARCO Raiders victorious against Black Lions
A first day with punch was seen by the men around head coach Santos Carrillo in Villacher Lind-Stadium. After some initial difficulties in the first quarter, the offensive motor was put in gear and 6 touchdowns in three quarters was enough to walk away with a clear 41-7 victory.

Start to Season for SWARCO Raiders against Carinthian Black Lions
This Sunday, March 28th, it will finally be time! The long awaited start to the National League will kick-off with a road game in Villach. At 15:00 the men surrounding head coach Santos Carrillo will be taking on the dangerous outsider Carinthian Black Lions in Villacher Lind-Stadium.

Successful XIV Austrian Cheerleading Championships
With a bronze medal for the Peewees, a 4th place finish for the Juniors and a 5th place finish for the Seniors the Raiderettes wrapped up a successful Austrian Championship. The event in Ferry Dusika Stadium was a huge success, it was a sold out event with over 4,000 in attendance and all in all the talent level displayed by all participating squads was very high.

Results of the XIII. Austrian Cheerleading Championships
On March 1st, at the 13th Cheerleading Championships in Vienna, the Raiderettes finished 4th with their Danceteam, Cheer Peewees team and Cheer Juniors team. The Senior Cheerteam won the Bronze Medal.

SWARCO Raiders Youth 2 x Champs, 2 x Runners Up
With this strong balance the SWARCO Raiders Tirol are the most successful youth program in Austria. The youngest Raiders won the Mini Bowl on Saturday with a score of 22-6 and on the following day the Juniors were able take home a convincing 35-3 victory against the Danube Dragons in the College Bowl. The Jugend suffered a bitter loss with a final score of 32-34 and the Schüler fought valiantly but came up on the short end of a 0-22 score against the Vikings.

Football Championships in Innsbruck with Big Game Day Program
Due to the repeated success of the SWARCO Raiders Football Youth program, this coming Saturday two bowl games will be taking place at the Innsbruck Wiesengasse C. The Mini Bowl (U12) and the Jugend Bowl (U16). The Finale and the events surrounding these games will be filled with fun and excitement, similar even to that of a Raiders game in Tivoli Stadium.

SWARCO Raiders Youth teams fight for the Austrian Championships

All 4 youth teams of the SWARCO Raiders Tirol found their way to the Austrian Finals and will be battling for titles this coming weekend in the most important games of the year. The SWARCO Raiders Minis and Jugend won home field advantage and will face the Raiffeisen Vikings Satruday at the Innsbrucker Wiesengasse C. On Sunday the SWARCO Raiders Schüler and the Juniors will be setting up shop at the Vienna Raveline where the Schüler will take on the Raiffeisen Vikings and then the Juniors will face off with the Danube Dragons.

SWARCO Raiders Juniors overcome tough odds in Semi Finals against Raiffeisen Vikings 41:14 (7:7; 21:7; 6:0; 7:0)
In this highly anticipated game between the undefeated Vikings and the SWARCO Raiders Juniors playing for a chance to advance to the College Bowl, the tough as nails and highly concentrated defense along with unleashed running back Andreas Hofbauer were able to make the difference.

SWARCO Raiders Schüler nearly pull off thrilling upset, Juniors soundly handle Rangers

The SWARCO Raiders Schüler lost a very tough game to the Raiffeissen Vikings. Considering the 46-0 loss to the VIkings four weeks ago, the chance at revenge got their motors running. They fought bravely and loss a very tough game 21-27. The SWARCO Raiders Juniors easily handled the ASKÖ Rangers at the Freizeitzentrum Wiener Neudorf dominating this contest 76-0.

National Team Player Reinhard Pardeller taken into the Austrian Military Sport Program
One of the biggest youth talents of the SWARCO Raiders, defensive linemen Reinhard Pardeller, was taken as the 4th Raider into the Austrian Military Sport Program after Florian Grein (2004), Markus Krause and Philipp Margreiter (both in 2009). With this, he comes one step closer to his goal of playing football at a college in the US.

For the Pfingst weekend the yearly ASKO National Championships between the Raiders, Vikings, and Dragons will be taking place. The show room of these match-ups always changes between Vienna and Innsbruck. This year the youth players for the Swarco Raiders will be making the long trip to Vienna to square up with their age old rivals the Vikings and the Dragons.

SWARCO Raiders part ways with head coach Santos Carrillo
The SWARCO Raiders and head coach Santos Carrillo as well as offensive coordinator Nicholas Johansen will go separate ways after July 31, 2010. After long and intense considerations both sides, the board of the Tyrolean football team and the two coaches came to this decision.

Playing on July 9th in the Austrian Bowl will only be the of this game. The last game day of the regular season in the Austrian Football League promises lots of excitement. It will decide whose got home field advantage for the semi finals and who will secure the final playoff spots.
